The arrival of top Thai factory riders set the stage for an even more exciting 2009 Motocross Masters of Asia - Puerto Princesa International Motocross Grand Prix kicking off today at the Sta. Monica International Racetrack in Puerto Princesa City.

The quest for the coveted crown turns more unpredictable with Honda factory rider Kriangkrai Thiannok, Yamaha factory rider Thanarat Peruan and Honorary President of the FIM UAM and current Thai Federation President Thongchai Wongsawan joining the battle royale of Asia’s national champions in this biggest motorcycle spectacle sponsored by the City of Puerto Princesa, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes, CTI Knee brace, Oakley , Petron Sprint 4T, Spyder Helmets, Castrol, HJC Helmets, Department of Tourism and Insideracing .

Iran, on the other hand, eyes strong chances for the Asian diadem behind Mojtaba Karimazadeh and Amireza Sabetifar.

Among the top caliber foreign entries are India’s CS Santosh, Hong Kong’s Vincent Lai, China’s Su Wen Min, Sri Lanka’s Tuan Ossen, and Japanese Suzuki factory rider and 2002 National Champ-freestyle rider Sinichi Kaga who will be the main instructor of AMSA Asian Motorcycle Sports Academy clinic.

RP’s campaign for the title will be led by reigning Rider of the Year Kenneth San Andres who will be joined by former champions Jan Carlo Rellosa and new entires from Mindanao and Cebu .

Up for grabs is the Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn Cup — a sterling silver trophy coming from the city’s chief executive and his constituents.
